Wired's article on Solar PDF Print E-mail

Did Wired just coin a new term? Hygrid - solar powered homes connected to the grid.

Some quotes: "In the old days, being green meant being hardcore...Today, hardcore has given way to hybrid...A combination of forces is pushing hygridding into the mainstream....Solar thermal - using sun energy to heat water - now costs in the range of 6.5 cents per kilowatt-hour, one-tenth of its price 25 years ago."   ...It's good for everybody," he says. "And it can actually make you money."

I think this article is a good example because it successfully taps into the trend of turning "environmentalism" into "money saving" and "cool tech" - both aspects that the public is more interested in.
