GMIC Board Chair Amy Spatrisano indicates: “The green meetings industry has been challenged in the past to coordinate and maintain a centralized information source on gree meetings. The GMIC’s new site does this, and makes the task of greening meetings easier and more convenient for meeting professionals with helpful tips and resources i one online location that we will continue to update and expand.” The GMIC was established to improve meeting management practices by promoting environmentally responsible strategies through th collaborative efforts of meeting industry stakeholders ‐ balancing economic, environmental, and community objectives. The Council is seeking to transform the meetings market – an estimated $102.3 billion industry (Convention Industry Council 2001) ‐ to support green meetings. # # # # For further information please contact: Nancy Wilson, CMP 503.731.8971 This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |
